I shut Cobbic down

Cobbic has been turned off. I did that.

It had pages acting as places, a clean editor, real-time chat, search, and a feed that aimed to rank conversations rather than followers. I built it in two months, deployed it on AWS, and let people in.

Then I killed it.

The code did not fail. The product wanted me to take on a second job — one I did not want.

Every useful action hit my servers: chat, posts, search, embeddings. AirDelivery works because the file never touches me. Cobbic was the opposite — a cloud bill attached to other people's words.

The other problem was the words. Once you have pages and a feed, you no longer have software. You have a room. Rooms need moderation, cleanup, and a reason to come back on a Tuesday. I could ship the pipes. I did not want to run the newspaper.

So I took it down. No zombie banner. No "coming back soon."

I kept the useful parts: Terraform and ECS instead of clicking in the console, pub/sub instead of one process praying, chat under 100ms, Typesense on messy text, a MiniLM feed that was more honest than "AI" on a landing page.

I also kept the scar. Tools can be finished. Communities never are. If the product only exists because you keep writing the room into being, you do not have a product. You have a hobby with an invoice.
